Bishop to kick off church music workshops

MSM Church Music Encounter 2003: August – September, 2003

BISHOP Dr Robert Solomon will be conducting a worship seminar at the Sophia Blackmore Hall, 6 th floor Methodist Centre, Barker Road, on Aug. 23 from 2.30 pm to 6 pm.

The seminar is part of a series of Church Music Encounter workshops organised annually by the Methodist School of Music (MSM) to enhance the worship and music ministry of churches. Co-sponsored by Wesley Methodist Church, it will provide an opportunity for participants to examine the biblical foundations of worship, the Methodist way of worship, and issues and challenges related to worship in our churches today.

Bishop Dr Solomon will touch on “The Primacy of Worship: A Biblical Perspective”, “The Methodist Way of Worship: Worshipping in Spirit and in Truth”, and “Worship Today: Issues and Challenges”.

There are nine workshops covering the various segments within the worship and music ministry. Every Christian, whether pastor, worship leader, pianist, musician, dancer, composer or congregational member, will find a workshop relevant to him or her. The following workshops will be offered:
