Geylang CMC launches new ‘mixed’ bilingual service

GEYLANG Chinese Methodist Church has just started a “mixed” bilingual Sunday service.

The service, which was launched on Nov 30, will either be conducted in English or in Mandarin.

Said a church leader: “The younger generation of Chinese in Singapore understands both Mandarin and English because of the Government’s bilingual policy. Hence, they can worship the Lord in either a Mandarin or an English service.”

The service is held on the fourth floor of the Sanctuary from 9 am to 10.30 am every Sunday.
The church, located next to the Aljunied MRT station, has four other Sunday worship services – the Hokkien, Mandarin, English and Children services.
