Methodists, make music!

Jun 2015

MCS 130 Song-Writing Competition

Music inspires and moves us into action. The Bible, too, exhorts us to “Sing to the Lord a new song”.

If you have a knack for music composition, here is an opportunity not to be missed! The Methodist School of Music (MSM) is organising a Song-Writing Competition. Share your original composition with other Methodists as we celebrate the 130th Anniversary of The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS 130).

Submit your original composition based on the MCS 130 theme “Moving Forward in Service” by 31 July 2015 and stand to win one of three cash prizes – $3,000, $2,000 or $1,000.

Watch out for the announcement of the results in September 2015. Three winning entries will be showcased at the Celebration of Praise and Thanksgiving Service, the culminating event of the MCS 130 celebration on 28 Nov 2015 at Paya Lebar Methodist Church.

Please visit www.msmusic.edu.sg for more information, including the Song Submission Form that must accompany your entry, submission guidelines and judging criteria. For enquiries or submission, please email to msm@msmusic.edu.sg.

The competition is open to all in the Methodist community (including Methodist schools); however, those employed with the MSM and the MCS are not eligible to participate.
