Walk aims to raise $2m for Methodist schools

May 2004

THE Methodist Schools’ Foundation (MSF) is organising a walk — MethodistWALK 2004 — on May 29, 2004 at 7 am to raise funds for our 14 Methodist schools.

The 3.8-km walk will start and end at the entrance of Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC). This is the route: From the entrance of ACJC, turn right into Dover Close East, then to Dover Road, Dover Avenue, West Commonwealth Avenue, North Buona Vista Road, Dover Close East, and back to ACJC’s entrance.

The Minister for Transport, Mr Yeo Cheow Tong, will be the guest-of-honour.

The MSF hopes to raise $2 million from the walk. All proceeds will go towards the construction, maintenance and improvement of school buildings and facilities.

All the 14 schools will benefit as 60 per cent of all funds raised by each school will be disbursed to them.

In 2002, MethodistWALK 2002 raised $1.68 million, of which 30 per cent was disbursed to the schools proportionate to their collections.
